Inside and outside
Dark ink and pale paper. And the beginning is the point of trying to overcome our own lethargy and then to forget the old experiences, in order to find a suitable expression for the moment. Focused, but nevertheless relaxed, absorb the external impulse and try to give it another form. For numerous and constantly new impressions yield numerous and new forms.
At the same time, with no idea of time, having an inner sense of calm, simultaneously and very precisely paying attention to the spaces in between. Man and his movement is almost always my chosen subject, sometimes however the flowing of water or the drawing of the clouds across the sky.
On rare occasions I use music. The outer movement is usually perceptible from within, and then goes from there, transformed, back on to the paper. Just as the flow of water constantly changes, taking on forms which immediately dissolve, and yet always retaining its essential character, so I try to give from to this flowing.
